Update: North Star Library Consortium Project
The North Star Library Consortium Project is designed to promote student achievement through improved and increased library media center services. As a consortium it will achieve these objectives in a cost-effective manner that frees staff to provide service and relieves demands on local technical support.
The North Star Library Consortium Project will connect school libraries to their students, teachers, parents, and communities via a state of the art, online, library automation system that is accessed via the web from a central site. This consortium offers increased services, while providing cost savings.
The initial phase of the North Star Library Consortium Project was scheduled for early FY 2005, but recent changes at the state level regarding funding options have created delays in the project's start. We believe in the value of the North Star Library Consortium Project and we remain committed to its successful implementation.
If your school district would like to participate in this consortium, or if you would like to receive more information about the project, please respond immediately to rsolie@nlln.org or call the Northern Lights Library Network office at 800-450-1032.
